H&M's future collaborator inspired by horror manga!

Have you guys actually seen H&M's Design Awards winner?? Have you? Have you?

Just in case you haven't here you go!

To be fair I didn't even know that H&M has a design award up until a few days ago but I am SO glad I do. Basically, it's a competition which is open to students of 19 major fashion colleges from Europe and the prize is to have their collection made into a line for H&M to be sold in shops.

So why is this so exciting? Uh cos the winner Minju Kim is like amazing?

Look how cute and avantgarde this stuff is! DAT STRUCTURE. DEM SHOES. DEM MASKS.
Minju Kim is a South Korean native studying at Artesis; the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.

Her collection was called My Dear Friend, you can see the rest of the outfits here

Look at her at the end, bounding around. What a cutie pie.

The name for the collection and one of the main sources of inspiration for Minju were observations that she made of people around her who were 'disguised' as friends i.e. act like but are not true friends, and that they have ugly sides to them.

It's amazing how such a cute looking collection can have such dark connotations! I love that juxtaposition. What's even cooler is her sketchbook where you can really see how her mind in working and where she gets more inspiration from.

This first page got me right in the kokoro [heart].

Aww look at the skirt, it looks like blood... but cute blood
...I ....LOVE....Junji Ito....in ways that I can't comprehend...
Look at all that kawaii going on on the right. LOOK AT DEM POTENTIAL CHARACTER GOODS.
Animu sparkles up in this bitch. So much creepy cute going on. Dayum.
UUGGH MY FEELINGS. And the best part is that we're going to be seeing this collection in the shops in Autumn so I refuse to eat and hoard my money until then when I can buy everything!
Except maybe this mask
JESUS CHRIST KILL IT WITH FIRE.
Is anyone else as surprised by her inspiration as I am??
