Emmie gets organised for once in her life; a review.

Hey yall!

Recently I had the chance to order a new diary from a website called Personal Planner.

With Personal Planner, you can pretty much change all of the features of a planner to your specifications.

I am a horrible procrastinator and I have a gold-fish memory so having a new diary is seriously what I needed to organize like everything in life.
~ nostalgia time~
You know when you were in school and you were given a planner to use for school work and it was nice and crisp at the beginning of the year, but then about 2 months in, you're like "Screw this, you can't tell me what to do, I'M 14 F**K DA POPO" and totally deface it and draw doodles on it in scented gel pens and it looks mangled and dead and then you just stopped using it, well, this sort of eliminates that because you can totally customize this diary to your specifications and not get bored of it cos it's your own magical creation.

Let me show you the fruits of my loins brains.

It arrived in about a week! It comes with a protective plastic cover for the back and front covers.
I chose a picture from a shoot Miles Aldridge did for Vogue because fashion and cats.
You can also personalize the text on the front page, I could have said something hilarious but I thought I should be practical with what my front page said.

I wanted the inside to be as colourful as possible. I'm stupidly excited about the blue ruler.
IDEK why. I'm so easily amused
I picked the option of having a monthly over-view at the back of the planner, sort of wish I didn't, I should have asked for more blank paper D,:
The monthly over-view list significant calendar dates and phases of the moon
Now my new baby is living happily inside my handbag and accompanies me everywhere~
Welcome to the family of things that go into my bag, little diary
Wanna make one? Let me show y'all how this works.

The site is really simple to navigate, everything significant has giant arrows pointing to it
LETS START!

Pick your size, I got the smallest one :D

For your cover, use a picture that strikes joy into your heart whenever you look at it. Play with the text, and colour of the elastic.
I'm particularly impressed with how you can  make the diary start at any month~
Pick what the inside is going to look like.
You can have personal dates printed, like your cat's birthday or that guy that you stalk on tumblr's birthday...
You can also chose extras for your page layout like to-do lists, work hours, goal list etc~
I regret picking those types of back pages, I have a grand total of 6 pages to make notes on now!
and finally, create an owner info page. It could say anything but for practical reasons, you should probably leave some contact information on it if you happen to use it

AND BAM IT'S THAT SIMPLE

If you want one, because you know you do, go here

AND GO LIKE THEM ON FB, COS THEY'RE LOVELY.

Now that's over, I can strip naked and sit in front of my fan and watch the rest of Avatar; The last Airbender. Toodles!!

Top 5 Cute (but not too cute) backpacks under £100!

Seeing as my top 5 tights websites went down so well, I thought I would do another top 5 list, this time featuring backpacks! There have been quite a lot of ss13/13 collections that have had backpacks in them so my creeper sense is telling me that maybe backpacks are on the rise!

If you're anything like me, the woven ethnic prints backpacks that are favoured by a lot of bloggers don't really cut it so after weeding those, and a ton of boring regular ones black ones, I was left with these cute but no-too-cute backpacks, which are suitable for all ages and are under £100!

This entry is a little link-heavy, just warning you now.
Mania Q Pastel purple backpack. This bag pops up quite regularly on my tumblr dashboard and I only found out where it was from today. Mania Q is only available in Japan but at a bargain at 2780 yen (which is about £20) it woudn't cost too much to use a shopping service to get one. This design also comes in a range of other pastel colours. Oooh~~

Ever since I saw Glad Newswinged bag, I have been lusting after a winged bag, but while I was browsing Fasionlista , I came across Lost Mannequin's winged Sid bag and I was just so amazing, I was in love and knew I need it. I think it was $50, not including shipping, but I can't check because the site is down for maintenance (I'll check later) and they come in lots of other cute colours. It's also made from 100% Polyurethane (PU) for you vegan lot and should definitely check out the rest of Lost Mannequin bag ranges because they are just as inventive and cute!

Independent British brand Lazy Oaf 's Clown Rucksack is the perfect size to use for a school bag (according to their website, it fits 3 A4 folders). What I love about Lazy Oaf in general is that a lot of their collections feature particular patterns which makes them easy to coordinate with other Lazy Oaf things, like you can match the bag with their creepers or this notepad or this t-shirt (can you tell I like matching things?). It's pretty reasonable at £55 and after molesting in the shop for a while, I know it's excellent quality~

Yes that Cambridge Satchel is a backpack. This is an adorable take on their more traditional satchels. The bag is available in 13 different colours and 14" and 15" sizes and at £93-£98 for an incredibly sturdy 100% leather bag, that is a really reasonable price. A bag like this will last you years unlike the cruddy £50 synthetic bags you buy from Topshop that show wear after 3 months, so it's a brilliant investment!

Lastly the Joyrich x Giza bag which is currently on sale on Fake Tokyo so you gotta be quick if you want it! Currently going for 11,844 yen (£95) it's a steal if you're a Joyrich fan. Joyrich is known for their super fun prints and Giza is the brain-child of Luxe-queen, Mademoiselle Yulia who I wrote about here. I want it so much, my ovaries cry for it. Curse you bank account!

So there we have it folks! What do you think of my selection?

What are your opinions on the backpack trend and do you know of any more cute backpacks?

Spring Trend; Digital print tshirts! Your Eyes Lie review~

20 years ago (2 months ago) I ordered a t-shirt from the website Your Eyes Lie and this morning after multiple printing errors I finally received it. THANK GOD. I've been waiting on this t-shirt like the second coming of Christ!

Your Eyes Lie is a t-shirt company from the UK that, according to their about page, designs for those don't take themselves too seriously as as they put it, the "geeky friend [who] just keeps on dancing, pulling extravagent shapes of happiness while wearing a t-shirt and the broadest of grins."

The original store picture
I can't imagine this girl wanting to pull shapes somehow...I will show her...
The image is of that ruddy Icelandic volcano that exploded 2 years ago and grounded half the planes in Europe for week.On actually getting it, I'm slightly disappointed mainly because it's too big for me (I ordered medium), which is my own fault. I wanted it to be cute and baggy but for some reason, it just doesn't look that great large.
Image-wise, it's awesome. And it's soft.

Part of me is scared that someone whose holiday was wrecked by this cloud will falcon punch me in the street.
There's a bit of a printing error on the sleeve but I read that that it's normal to get white marks around the sleeves and the underarms where the inked missed it with this printing technique.

I raided my wardrobe to see what stuff would go with my new t-shirt.
I'm gradually finding it harder and harder to coordinate things in my wardrobe together because recently, everything I have bought has been blue; and being matchy matchy doesn't fly man.

Now for obligatory gifs of me wearing it.

Skirt: Topshop
Shoes: Primark
Harness: Forever 21

The fact it took so long to come was understandable. Printing errors are something that are completely out of their hands but I wish they would have told me when mistakes occurred rather than me having to chase them up to find out. Still, they were prompt with their replies and patient.

If yall want one, you can get it here but don't forget to sign up to their news letter an get 10% off.

Here's me and Ananya at the weekend showing store picture girl how pulling shapes is done..

Style Break-Down; Dara!

On July 6th, Korean band, 2NE1's new music video for their song I LOVE YOU was released.

For any of you who aren't aware, I am obsessed with Korean pop. Recently, Kpop has been taking the music and fashion world by storm. Designers love it, producers love it and a Korean group, Big Bang won MTV's EMA 2011 award  for 'Worldwide act' even beating Britney Spears to the prize!

2NE1 are an all-girl group whose jaw-droppingly style and attitude have charmed the likes of Jeremt Scott and Will.i.am. They're all about empowerment and independence; like a more fashionable reincarnation of the Spice Girls. These girls are always dressed to kill in their videos and designers throw their most lavish of clothes and jewelry at them. Jealous much?

Today I wanted to break-down my favourite outfit of the video, worn by Dara's (here on the left).
From left to right; Dara, Minzy, CL and Bom.
After some snooping, I think I managed to piece together Dara's oufit.

SHAZAM
You could probably put down a deposit on a house for the cost of this outfit!
Dara's "dress" is actually two pieces from Cavalli's s/s12 RTW collection, worn with a vintage Versace belt, which is then matched with another vintage Versace piece; a Medusa link bracelet. She's also super lucky to be wearing one of Giza's pieces from their S/S12 collection (which are a nightmare to get hold of) and the outfit is set off with a simple pair of Wang heels.

I'm drooling.

Can I be the 5th member of 2NE1 please?

If you're new to 2NE1 or are already a fan, what do you think of this song and their outfits?

Cute Tights Galore

Plash- Takako Minekawa

I managed to catch a nasty sinus infection over the last couple of days and after spending a good 3 days not doing anything, I quickly put this together to make myself feel like I haven't just been wasting time.

Today I present; CUTE TIGHTS GALORE.

I have this theory that statement tights are going to be pretty big over the next couple of seasons, and I've found 5 really amazing websites that you can buy tights unlike any you've seen in the shops!

If you're a tumblr dweller or a Japanese fashion fan like I am, you might be familiar with Celeste Stein's Angel print tights. Celeste Stein have the most amazingly large selection of prints for tights, socks and leggings. You can find anything from art prints, to vintage wallpaper designs, florals, clouds. It's HUGE.

I came across Merry Go Round when I was on Tumblr and I don't think there is much known about this brand because they appear to be really new (and I can't read Japanese). Each have been designed to match particular lolita dress print. Just look at that vomit-inducing cuteness!! I don't even know what I would wear with these if I owned a pair but they're a work of art in themselves. SO CUTE.
Holley Tea Time is a Japanese inspired brand from Southern California, created by artist and designer, Holley Khuzaie. My friend Amelie has a pair of their bat tights and I just fell in love with them. These super cute things are perfect for girls who love lolita, fairy-kei or cutesy styles. They look edible, don't you just wan to eat them!
I stumbled upon Teja Jamilla while I was randomly browsing etsy and i am in love!. I love how they are still statement pieces yet at the same time are really wearable. The prints are inspired by vintage designs but have a whimsical twist by featuring quirky imagery like squid and narwhals. (Who doesn't want a narwhal on their legs.) The prints come in opaque ink and most excitingly, metallic. Ooooh :D
I'm pretty sure most of you have come across some of these tights designs on tumblr. The Cult Label didn't design the tights though (unlike others that are on the site), I've been informed that they're replicas of  MAM Avantgarde's designers, but none the less, Cult Label still has a really good range of these tattoo print tights.
I'm particularly keen on the kitten design, though I'm terrified I'd make holes in them .

So there we have it folks. What do you guys think of the ones that I found?
Do you know of any places that sell awesome tights let me know in the comments~

EDIT: Changing some facts

Recent Buys and Outfits

Uretim Hatasi (manufacturing error)- Pin Up

Oh lawd I'm back with some more terrible laptop pictures with terrible backgrounds.

I got me some skirts because my tops outnumber my skirts. Any excuse to go shopping.
After 3 long months, I finally got my stupid £6 skirt from ebay. I'm honestly not surprised it was so cheap because the lining is sewn with the seams facing outwards  and it's really long and the front so I have to roll it up about 5 times just so it doesn't swamp me.

The rolling made my hips look strange but wotevz

Today I went to the V&A museum with my mum to see the Ballgown exhibition they have going on at the moment and I picked up a couple of things while the big Topshop sale was on~

I've gotten in to a really bad habit of not blogging about things in chronological order. I still have a lot of stuff to write about what I have been up to over the last couple of weeks.

Here's a sneak peek; here's a pic of my crew with Carri Muden of Casette Playa that was in ID magazine.
Me and Joel be creepin'.

Later! x
