Happy new years guys! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas and a lovely new years Both of mine were spent gorging myself at my grandparents house.
As you might be aware, I am obsessed with subcultures and style-tribes, particularly those in Japan because we don't really have any in the UK anymore and when we do they're rarely interesting.
Therefore I have compiled a list of my top 5 Japanese style-tribe and fashion related youtube channels.

Harajuku Kawaii TV
It is what it says on the tin. Every episode, popular models and personalities who identify with harajuku fashion such as Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, Ayumi Sato and Fumiho Aoyagi talk you through all the best shops, fashion trends, makeup and even how to put outfits together. It's just adorable. I watched all their episodes, which are pretty short to begin with, in one sitting!
Tokyo Fashion News
This is the accompanying Youtube channel of the popular Tokyo Fashion website
They post pretty regularly and cover style tribes, subculture, fashion shows and do some really amazing interviews and shoots with people who will definitely recognize if you're big into Tokyo street style. The quality of the videos are excellent and the content is really interesting.
Galten Panyanyan
I have no idea what is going on half the time because my Japanese is rubbish, but to break it down Panyanyan is essentially a forum consisting of a load of Gal models and personalities who get together and discuss clothes and trends as well as their own personal style. Even though I barely understand anything they're super fun to watch. They're just...kind of mad. I love it
RUNWAY Channel.
Runway channel is responsible for showcasing collections from some of the best affordable luxury brands from Japan, including Shibuya Gal faves Murua, Dazzlin', Emoda and Jouetie etc. All these brands are just so amazing, they just prove that high end inspired fashion doesn't have to be expensive.

Kyaru Pamyu Pamyu TV
A whole channel dedicated to the sweetheart of Harajuku fashion Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and her adorableness. All Kyary all the time.What more could I you want? This channel contains all the adverts, promotions and programs that Kyary is in. So cute ;_;
There are a ton of channels out there that are dedicated to Japanese fashion but a lot of them aren't updated anymore ): Hopefully in the future more and more will pop up.

I love all of these! Sadly, a lot of the ones I used to like don't update anymore either. I loved it when Kawaii.i had Mana Honda-san taking us around different parts of Japan and often to different fashion places.

ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know any of these! But I'm hooked, I don't speak any Japanese unfortunately, would love to learn if only to understand what their crazy minds are thinking! I went to Japan last summer and I felt like you somehow really miss out if you don't understand the language...
