Brand whore for a day; Roberto Piqueras

For one day, I acquired clothes by East London designer, Roberto Piqueras.

Why only a day? Because I was picking them up for my amazing friend Joel [[who I wrote about in an April entry about my favourite male bloggers. I still find it intensely weird that we are actually IRL friends now! I love him to bits]] who needed them for a photoshoot.

So off I totter into the depths of East London looking for Roberto's flat to personally pick up some pieces for the shoot.

So who is Roberto Piqueras? Roberto is a designer from Madrid. He moved to London last year and has sort of already established himself as one of the main personalities and designers from the East London fashion movement.

From his Autumn/Winter 2012-13 collection. All these models were found from tumblr! Oh internet <3 td="td">
And for my beloved kpop fans, Dujun from B2ST was recently seen rocking this RP number~
Oh hey there Dujun
London street brands such as BOY London, Long Clothing, Katy Eary, Casette Playa, KTZ as well as Roberto Piqueras have been gaining a lot of international press recently, particularly in Asia. You're bound to see at least 3 of these brands in any given Korean pop video and old' Riri and Jessie J are quite fond of Boy London and Casette Playa respectively

So after getting lost for about an hour trying to find Roberto's flat, I finally found his place and we chatted for a while (I must have sounded like such a bumbling idiot -cry-)and I picked up the garments that I needed, sprinted home because of the rain, yapped on the phone to Joel like an excited child for ages and ran into my house giggling like a mad woman.

((Obviously I tried on everything because its not every day that a bag with £1000-ish worth of designer clothing are entrusted to you, and in the words of 14 year old boy who starts a sandwich fight in the school canteen; YOLO))

Here's the first of the garments I picked it. This amazing chip (fries for you Americans) printer jumper with the Queen's face on it. It's super warm and massive and I can wear it as a dress. For my Japanese speaking readers, can anyone translate the Kanji for me? I'm aware it;s backwards.

Oh Lizzie you never looked so fine!!
The second outfit was Roberto's Fishnet jumper (You can't buy this one on his site anymore but you can get the t-shirt of the same print with matching trousers) from the autumn/winter 2012-13 collection
I'm seriously tempted to buy a tracksuit now. I miss these pieces D,:
And this cute thing called the Photoshop t-shirt

I feel Roberto's work is very relatable to somebody like me who is a bit of an internet dweller. There are a lot of references to online culture; photoshop, gifs, prints that remind me of animutations...

Oh and on random note, Roberto has a lot of Hello Kitty in his room. YAY!

This is probably the last entry for the next week as I am busy with more travelling. I'm off to Cornwall to visit my aunt on her farm and hang out with her alpacas for a week!

Tell your wife, tell your cat, tell your friends~~

Toodles! x
